52 People Brutally Killed By ISCAP In Irumu, Ituri Province Of DRC As ISIS-Central Welcomes New Caliph
At least 50 people have been killed by the Islamic State Central Africa Province (ISCAP) in Three villages in Irumu territory in Ituri province, Bandavilemba grouping, Walese Vonkutu chiefdom. The massacre occurred in Otambare, Ndimo, and Apende villages where the victims were savagely killed with machetes.
The region has become a theatre for repeated attacks by the jihadists as it is along the border between Ituri and North Kivu provinces. At least 15 people were killed in Apende, 18 in Ndimo, and 19 in Otomabere villages which are close to each other.
Despite the state of siege and the joint military operations between the Congolese and Ugandan armies against their strongholds, ISCAP continues to massacre the civilian population. Additionally, the recent appointment of a new caliph for ISIS is a great motivation and reinvigoration of the group that is seeking applause from the newly minted leader. Various wilayat of ISIS have been pledging allegiance to the new caliph and as such the recent massacres and violence are tailored to that end.
