Armed militants belonging to the Islamic States’ Central Africa Province (ISCAP) majorly active in Mozambique attack several other villages in the restive north. The Jihadists attacked several villages where they burned down churches, buildings and took several people hostage.
The series of seemingly coordinated attacks occurred at; Meangalewa and Muidumbe villages on 6 April where they burned down a church and took people hostage, a similar attack on the same day took place in Bilibiza about 50km from Pemba. On 7th the armed militants attacked Muatide village destroying houses during their attack as well as similar styled attacks in Miengueleua and Ntchinga.
A video has been circulating that insurgents said they will only attack the state and its representatives, and re-asserted they want Islamic law imposed in the area. They have seemed to change the tactics seeing as the last wave of attacks did not leave any casualties which can be attributed a recent backlash for the crude and violent approach in the Cabo Delgado.
Since the acknowledgement of ISCAP by the slain Baghdadi, the group has been conducting violent attacks in Mozambique’s north which are aimed at driving people and companies from the resource-rich region. The seeming change in tactics is geared at inflicting fear among the residents as well as advance the group’s agenda of establishing a region governed by Sharia law as is expected by the group’s parent group_ ISIS-central.

so how is Mozambique national government responding to this situation for my take the government should ensure that it responds to this matter before it goes out of hand
