According to an official, security arrested and detained 229 people from several provinces including the capital city Cairo on Friday.
The Brotherhood supporters staged protests across the country over what they claimed as deteriorating economic situation.
Cairo has been engaged in a crackdown on the opposition since President Mohamed Morsi, a senior Brotherhood leader, was ousted in July 2013 in a military coup.
Incumbent President General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi who was then head of the armed forces led the coup Morsi.
Egyptian courts have held mass trials for thousands of Muslim Brotherhood supporters and members since Sisi took power in June 2014.
