South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has said that no decision has so far been reached on the United Nations Security Council resolution authorizing additional 4,000 foreign soldiers to his country.
Kiir also confirmed his commitment of bringing peace to the country saying those he is anti-peace do not speak on behalf of his government.
However, Kiir said that he had reservations over deployment of a regional force saying he required further consultations of the force mandate.
"I am neither against nor for the UNSC resolution on South Sudan. Be patient, after wider consultation with my constituency, I will submit my reservations to the UNSC [United Nations Security Council] resolution on the 4,000 regional forces for South Sudan,” Kiir said while addressing the assembly.
UNSC has threatened South Sudan government with arms embargo if the two rival sides fails to reach a comprising ground to ensuring peace is realized in the world’s youngest nation.
