The State Department on Thursday 30th June 2016 revised its travel advisory for the U.S. citizens in Kenya warning of risks of attacks by Al-Shabaab terrorist group.
State Department pointed out volatile areas in Kenya which its citizens should avoid travelling.
Kenya’s security agencies working together have already earmarked these areas in the country with high level of threat from the Somali based jihadist group, Al-Shabaab and security is all high.
KDF continues to conduct patrols in NEP Kenya; along the volatile border with Somalia.
Northeastern Kenya towns and surrounding of Mandera, El Wak, Wajir and Garissa; security all high and prepared to preempt any terror threat.
At the coastal region, security forces are on high alert during the month of Ramadan. Various operations have seen terror cells being flushed in Lamu.
Security also beefed in coastal counties of Lamu, Tana River, Kilifi and in Malindi.
Police presence also felt in busy and crowded public places—ferry areas and public beaches.
Security forces on the lookout in Eastleigh and its neighbourhood.
