Tunisian Special Forces reportedly killed a high value Islamic State commander during clashes with the militant group in troubled central mountainous region.
Report from Tunisian Ministry of Defense, the crackdown on terrorists was a success saying the clash saw Saif Eddin Jammali known as Abu Qaqaa killed.
According to the Defense ministry Saif Eddin Jammali alias Abu Qaqaa was one of the most dangerous terrorist leaders in Tunisia in Jund al-Khilafah.
During the Wednesday clashes, assortments of weapons were also seized and a bomb makeshift camp destroyed.
Tunisia has suffered deadly attacks from terrorist affiliated with the Islamic State notably assaults on a Tunis museum, a beach resort and a border town near Libya, crippling Tunisia’s vital tourism industry.
Middle East-based Islamic State also known as Daesh has also established foothold in Libya, taking over the city of Libya.
Intelligence and Security sources warn many of Daesh Libya’s commanders are Tunisians who have established training camps there and more likely to carry out attacks on Tunisia.
