28th January 2016, at least 10 people were killed in a suicide blast in Chibok, a Nigerian town where Boko Haram militants kidnapped more than 200 secondary school-girls nearly two years ago.
According witnesses, a suicide bomber detonated explosives Wednesday 27th January 2016 at a checkpoint where people were being screened, while the other two blew themselves up in Chibok town’s market.
No group immediately claimed responsibility but such attacks are linked to Boko Haram insurgents who pledged allegiance to Islamic State in 2014.
The group is known to employ suicide bombers to conduct attacks targeting crowded areas often public gatherings joints, bus stations or markets.
The Islamist extremist group, Boko Haram sparked international outrage in April 2014 when it abducted 276 secondary school teenage school-girls.
Fifty seven girls managed to escape while more than 200 remain missing to date.
