Operation Linda Boni has registered tremendous successes among them torching Al Shabaab hideouts, flushing the Mujahideen out of the Boni enclave, recovering weapons and arresting a significant number of recruits both of Kenyan decent and other nationalities.
According to Police Spokesman the threat of al Shabaab emanating from the Boni enclave has been reduced near eradication eliminating it as a training ground for the terrorists.

The Boni Forest located in the vast coastal county of Lamu and which has been for the past few years served as a training camp for al Shabaab militants is set to be gazette as a national reserve. This is set to attract tourist to the richly cultured Lamu County and simultaneously restore the economic blossom of the county.
Boni Forest had been encroached by the Somali based al Qaeda branch Harakat al Shabaab al Mujahideen and was used as a launch pad and co-ordination base or attacks in Kenya. Following a success operation into the Boni enclave, Kenyan Security officers have succeeded in freeing the forest and flushing out the militants.
The declaration of Boni Forest as a national reserve will not only attract international tourist but also domestic who will aid in rebuilding the Lamu County economy that has been ruined by the presence of militants.
