30th December 2015, recent military news from Somalia reports of a fierce battle between Al Shabaab militants and SNA near Bulo-Burde locality.
The heavy fighting saw three Al Shabaab militant killed and unfortunately one government soldier also killed in the line of duty.
Confirming the fierce encounter and incident, Bulo-burde district commissioner Abdulaziz Durow said that a heavy fight broke out at a militant controlled village of Doonkadiide.
In the battle frontline, one government soldier was killed when the troops raided an Al Shabaab base at Doonkadiide village, three Al Shabaab militants were killed by SNA backed by AMISOM’s Djibouti peacekeepers in Hiiraan region.
Mr Durow Bulo-Burde District Commissioner refuted claims that the district is still under Al Shabaab militant’s siege.
Bulo-burde is a strategic town providing a link to Somalia’s Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle region.
The Bulo-Burde locality has been an important base for the Al Qaeda affiliated branch in Somalia for more than five years.
