6 People Injured In Landmine Attack In Mogadishu Coffee Restaurant

At least six people were injured in Somali capital Mogadishu’s Wardhigley district Thursday evening after a landmine set by the roadside exploded outside a restaurant. The landmine was targeted at people dining at the front side of the coffee shop situated at a strategic road junction. All the injured have were caught by the explosion outside the restaurant. Security officers in the area have launched investigations geared at identifying the perpetrators of the attack as well as the motives.

However, preliminary results indicate that Al Shabaab insurgents are behind the attack as they look to seek revenge for recent attacks on their positions in different parts of Somalia.
