Puntland Blames Somaliland of Attacking its Territory to Disrupt President Farmajo’s Visit

A heavy battle between Puntland Defence Forces and Somaliland soldiers broke out after the separatist administration launched a pre-planned raid on Tukaraq, about 30kilometers southwest of Sool regional capital of Las Anod.

Puntland has blamed Somaliland of launching the attacks on its territory saying they were aimed to disrupt President Farmajo’s historic visit to the region.

In the statement released by Puntland Presidency, the assault on Tukaraq was an act of aggression that was aimed at creating instability and subsequently disrupt President Farmajo’s to the region.

The statement strongly condemned that aggression saying it encourages the terrorist organizations that Puntland is heavily battling in the mountainous Galgala area.
