Al-Shabaab Militants Kill 18 People in Somalia’s Mogadishu : Daily OSINT Briefs

Eighteen people were killed in Maka Al-Mukarramah hotel in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on 27 March by terror group Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen.

Those killed included Somalia’s ambassador to Switzerland, Yusuf Bari-Bari.

18 people were killed and 28 wounded when Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen terrorists attacked Maka Al-Mukarramah hotel in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

The terrorists detonated a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) in the first stage of the attack. The SVBIED distracted the security outside the hotel allowing the second group to enter the hotel.

The terrorists then occupied the third and fourth floor before security forces killed them all in a four hour-operation.

Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility through a statement released by the terror group spokesman Sheikh Ali Muhammad Rage (alias Ali Dheere).

Terrorist Rage claims a number of militants managed to leave the hotel.
