Al-Shabaab head of health in Galgudud region on Wednesday denounced the terror group and surrendered to government forces.
According to open sources reports, the terror figure surrendered to the Somali National Army (SNA) in Mahas town in Hiiraan.
Confirming the incident, Col. Ahmed Mohamed Teredisho of Somali National Army in the region said the terrorist is named Nor Ibrahim Abdulahi and added that he has been in the terror group for the last 5 years.
According to Ahmed Mohamed Teredisho, the terror figure will undergo thorough questioning in Beledweyne town. He also notes that Abdulahi has been responsible in recruiting young boys into the terror group.
Colonel Teredisho added the SNA will continue with military operations in both Galgudud and Hiiraan regions in Central Somalia until these regions are completely pacified.
Al-Shabaab terrorists seem to have understood the reality and started to make use of Somali President, Mohamed Abdulahi Famajo’s amnesty two months earlier. Some key fighters from the group have denounced the violence and accepted the peace process Somali National News Agency (SONNA) reports.
