OSINT Summary Update 1: Open Source Intelligence reports on 2200-hrs EAT 21st May 2015 pointed out that a band of militants believed to be elements of Somali Islamist terror group Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen, attempted to takeover Yumbis village in Kenya’s North East.
Actual Intelligence reports confirm the elements of the terror group had an encounter with Kenya Police Service officers at Jarajilla area.
Strategic Intelligence Services confirmed that the militants enetered the village called Yumbis on the evening.
Yumbis village is one of the Kenyan frontier areas where there was no police presence.
