The Kenyan Military Intelligence reports killing one of Al Shabaabs top commander in Lower Juba region by the army during a morning raid in Kiunga a frontier area.
In the army operations over a dozen Al Shabaab were killed and their communication equipment, ammunition, guns, and rocket propelled grenades captured.
Among the killed terrorists 3 were white men who army intelligence will verify their nationality.
The senior commander was killed when Kenya Defense Forces at 5.a, East African Time raided the Al Shabaab makeshift camp in the forests before they could launch attacks in Mpeketoni and other villages.
This was one of Kenya’s most successful counter-terrorism operation since it preempted one of the most well planned Al Shabaab attacks.
