Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Nigeria counterpart President Muhammadu Buhari held bilateral talks in Nairobi on 28th January on Buhari’s two-day visit in Kenya.
The two announced economic cooperation and multilateral and bilateral cooperation to eliminate terrorism that is a major challenge for both countries.

Kenya and Nigeria have agreed to increased cooperation in trade, industrialization and fight against terrorism in bilateral talks held in Nairobi on Nigeria’s President Buhari’s two-day state visit before both heads of state head to the AU Summit in Addis Ababa.
Buhari showed his support to the Kenya Defence Forces efforts of fighting to annihilate al Shabaab by attending an interdenominational memorial service in memory of the gallant heroes that perished in Somali in Eldoret.
Buhari congratulated Kenya on the economic milestones she has achieved regardless of the challenges she is facing both from within and without.
Buhari urged that Kenya and Nigeria should remain resolute in dealing with dealing with terrorists and sympathizers promising support for the same as he extended the olive branch to Kenya to help with Nigeria’s Boko Haram menace.
Kenya and Nigeria have increased their relations especially since Kenya discovered oil and gas seeing as the two countries are among the continents economic powerhouses facing similar challenges and the talks ensure the same mutual beneficial relationship is nurtured and upheld.
