EVENT SUMMARY
16th January 2016, Mahadi Swaleh Mahadi arraigned in court for role he played in Mpeketoni massacre that 60 left people killed.
Mahadi alias Jesus arraigned in court together with his accomplice and driver identified as Dyana Suleiman.
According to Tana Delta police detective Jeremiah Ikiao who testified at the court, identified the man as Mahadi alias Jesus was the one who arranged transports for the terrorists from Mombasa to Mpeketoni where they committed the massacres.
Police investigations revealed Mahadi was in constant contact with the driver (Dyana Suleiman) who transported the terrorists to Mpeketoni.
Investigation reports further reveal Mahadi together with a group of armed men dressed in military fatigues moved from one house to the next killing non-Muslims in localities of Mavuno, Kaisari, Poromoko and Mpeketoni town.
On 28th January 2016, the High Court in Mombasa upon scrutiny of the evidence provided against the two assailants has established they have a case to answer.
The two face murder charges whereby they contributed to the killing of 60 people in Mpeketoni, Lamu County in a terrorist attack.
