17th December 2015, a man yesterday was arraigned in court for role he played in Mpeketoni murders that left 60 people killed.
According to Tana Delta police detective Jeremiah Ikiao who testified at the court identified the man as Mahadi alias Jesus was the one who arranged transports for the assailants from Mombasa to Mpeketoni where they committed the massacres.
The detective said a witness has identified Mahadi as the suspect and that he tried to evict his family from their home before the fateful day.
Police investigations revealed Mahadi was in costant cntact with the driver that transport the terrorists to Mpeketoni.
Investigation reports reveal that Mahadi together with a group of armed men dressed in military fatigues moved from one house to the next killing non-Muslims in localities of Mavuno, Kaisari, Poromoko and Mpeketoni town.
He said Mr Mahadi and a group of armed men dressed in military attire moved from house to house, killing non-Muslims in Mavuno, Kaisari and Poromoko villages and Mpeketoni Township.
The suspect has more than once tried to evict people in areas of Poromoko saying they don’t belong there.
Defence Lawyers requested to be provided with police inquiry forms and handwritten statements.
The High court Judge Martin Muya adjourned the hearing and directed defence Lawyers be served with documents requested before the next hearing on December 28.
