A Kenyan journalist who security intelligence services are watching closely for his links with the Somali Islamist group Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen cropped pictures from a past video and published them online to push the terrorists agenda that they were making incursion in the Republic of Kenya.
The pictures were cropped from a past terrorists video, intelligence officers confirmed.
The picture was published in a timely manner with the objective to cause panic and further Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen information warfare/propaganda strategy.
The number of Kenyans who are using the social media are in millions, as such, when you post something that affects the national security of the Republic of Kenya, you will most certainly reach these people.
The journalist is using this strategy to alarm the public and cause anxiety.
Kenyans must be careful with some of these elements, they are out there to cause harm in the name of journalism and blogging.
