Kenya’s Geopolitical clout has gained strategic regional strength after two key events affecting the Central Africa Republic took place in Nairobi.
France is unable to make inroads in CAR after Nairobi secured legitimate peace deals signed by the key players in the Bangui politics.
Nairobi saw two former presidents of Central Africa Republic (CAR) François Bozizé (2003-13) and Michel Djotodia (2013-2014) sign a peace deal to end hostilities.
On 14 April peace talks brokered by the Government of the Republic of Kenyan yielded the desired yet globally unexpected results at the capital, Nairobi.
Bangui’s transition government led by Catherine Panza and international partners including France did not approve of the Nairobi initiative.
“There are prospects of peace in CAR,” French intelligence admits, ” Kenya pulled the rug under the UN feet after securing the peace concessions. It was not possible, we had tried, the UN had tried, and then, they did it”
“France and the rest have nothing to do in Bangui now. It is either you are with the peace makers from Nairobi or you have nothing. The players who made the peace concessions in Nairobi are not only powerful but the warlords who can either break or make CAR.”
Foreign Relations & Geopolitical Ramifications
More European countries are now rethinking their relations with Kenya. Many had opted the subtle hardliner and constantly using the policy of bellicose to keep Nairobi on toes.
France which was brokering peace besides conducting peace keeping military operations in CAR is surprised by the Kenyan success in CAR.
Nairobi seeks a powerful and economically robust East and Central Africa. A peaceful region is significantly crucial for economic growth. Nairobi’s policy is to ensure this happens through peace and regional trade, something West has failed to achieve in decades.
The CAR peace talks brokered by Kenya and Republic of Congo consummated the CAR Nairobi Agreement.
Two former CAR presidents, top and mid-level command leaders of the ex-Séléka and anti-Balaka vowed to support the transitional government’s roadmap to return the country to democratic rule.
“How President Kenyatta and his Foreign Affairs Intelligence team managed to get this done is adorable. You recall very well Djotodia refused to recognize the Brazzaville agreement and the transitional government in July 2014. Almost everyone in the two peace deals was not ready to recognize anything, and now we have peace deals, end of hostilities, its just commendable!”

President Uhuru can do very well. But i think there must be some forces which sometimes distract him from the right track to deliver service. How i wish he can move onto do the right things without any distractio9n.
