Kismayo: 10th February 2016, Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) military warplanes launched an overnight raid on a village near Kismayo.
Barhani locality in southern Somalia is perceived an Al-Shabaab stronghold.
Latest military reports from Somalia say Barhani, a locality controlled by the Al Qaeda affiliated group, Al-Shabaab was hit by KDF warplanes.
Barhani lies approximately some 60 kilometers north of the port town of Kismayo under the Jubaland administration.
Corresponding reports from local residents say they heard loud explosions after jets fired several missiles on Barhani, targeting Al Shabaab terrorists camps. Several militants were killed in the overnight air offensives by KDF air force.
KDF troops are serving under the banner of African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
