KDF suffered a loss when their Hughes MD-500 Defender helicopter drawn from its elite 50 air calvarly battalion crashed in Bargoni army camp in Lamu County in coastal Kenya.
The crew suffered critical injuries after the helicopter crashed and burned as it landed at the military camp.
Military Intelligence reports show the MD-500 combat helicopter was returning from an operation.
The helicopter was landing when it developed mechanical problems. It crashed and burned after the pilot lost control.
The crew, 2 pilots, survived the crash but are reportedly in critical condition.
