Deputy president of Kenya has cited ignorance as the main reason why the 37 Kenyans were killed by terrorists.
The miners were informed in time about a threat on them, for one reason or the other, the ignored the advise.
The miners were advised to move out of the area to safer grounds near security officers in town but they refused, Deputy President William Ruto told a television station.
This report indeed collaborates an intelligence report that confirms that the quarries had been charted in the terror threat analysis. The National Intelligence Service (NIS) gave warning that those working on the quarry be advised to move out or a police team be on standby nearby.
While a few police officer would not be adequate NIS had highly advised that the quarry workers move out and settle near security personnel facilities.
The quarry workers ignored the advise. They blatantly refused and the government regrets it should have forced them out to save their lives.
Ignorance is undoubtedly a major cause of insecurity whereby citizens refuse to read public safety bulletins besides constantly ignoring warnings.
The 36 workers were mainly from Nyeri county. About 20 Al-Shabaab terrorists attacked them on Tuesday morning (0200hrs EA) and shot them dead.

stupid..u dont force people out from their work,u provide them security!!
food for thought…
Some things I read are pathetic why didn’t the government move in with speed to protect these kenyans and use these chance to arrest the militants..
