Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta hosted some of the top billionaire investors in the world. They are in the country ahead of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit that will be attended by United State President Barack Obama later in the month (25-26 July, 2015).
The investors are in Kenya in preparation of the global summit that has now been held in Africa for a second time.
Among the lead investors in the country are:

- Jacqueline Novogratz- Founder and CEO Acumen
- Chris Anderson- Curator, TED Conference, founder of 3D Robotics
- Dipender Saluja- Capricorn Investments
- Steve Jurvetson- Draper Fisher Jurvetson
- Strive Masiyiwa- Zimbabwean Founder and chairman Econet Wireless
- Jean Oelwang- CEO Virgin Unite
- Zia Khan Rockefeller Foundation
The State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu confirmed the meeting between the investors with the president and further conveyed their interests in investing in the country’s green energy sector.
Presidents Kenyatta and Obama will co-host the summit that brings together investors and innovators from across the globe.
The investors’ presence and intention to invest in Kenya’s pilot programs is a sign of confidence in Kenya, Kenyans and the Kenyan market. The proposals tabled by the investors are well structured to meet the needs of Kenyans youth who wish to develop and advance the expertise in the energy sector.
The coming Global Entrepreneurship Summit gives Kenyans an advantage over other countries as the Kenyan populace get to interact with the investors and entrepreneurs who will be in Kenya and pitch to them raw ideas that will change the development direction of the country.
