March 2, 2016, Military source in Egypt has said that nearly two dozen militants have been killed in aerial bombardments that targeted the militant’s hideouts in the country’s restive Sinai Peninsula on Tuesday.
According the source, the warplanes targeted a training camp for members of the Islamic State-linked Velayat Sinai militant group, south of the town of Sheikh Zuweid, situated some 334 kilometers (214 miles) northeast of the capital, Cairo.
The aerial bombardments left 22 extremist dead and 30 other injured as reported by Arabi Press website.
The volatile Sinai Peninsula harbours Velayat Sinai terrorist group that is responsible for several attacks targeting government installations and security personnel, army and police.
Velayat Sinai militant group in November 2014 pledged allegiance to the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group, which is wreaking havoc mainly in Middle East especially in Iraq and Syria.
