Egypt Navy is eyeing to acquire two German MEKO A200 frigate at a cost of 1 billion Euros.
According to a French national newspaper, Le Tribune, Egypt is at an advanced stage negotiating with Germany for the two units aimed at boosting its naval capabilities.
The MEKO A200 is a frigate design by the Blohm + Voss shipyard of Germany, as part of the MEKO family of warships
The MEKO A200 Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) class frigate features a towed range sonar and an adjustable depth sonar.
