After an ambush by insurgents which killed over 90 of its soldiers last week, the Chadian military has eliminated dozens of Boko Haram militants in a retaliatory operation.
Earlier this week, Chadian President, Idriss Deby, directed the military commanders of a multi-national joint task force to embark on mop-up operations against the Islamist militants.
The Chadian Army has killed dozens of Boko Haram militants in what is seen as retaliation for the terror group’s deadly ambush of its soldiers.
In a video showing moments after the successful operation, Chadian troops could be seen chanting songs of victory while parading bodies of Boko Haram militants.
In response, Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram leader, released a video threatening to retaliate against President Deby.
The Nigerian Army suffered a similar ambush raid on its troops in Borno State, the epicenter of the Boko Haram militants, losing more than 70 army soldiers.
