Body_of_Al_Shabaab_Commander_Burhan_Ali_Ayatullah

13 Al-Shabaab militants have been gunned down by the Kenya Defense Forces after they ambushed the army convoy outside El Ade area in Gedo region near the Somali-Kenya border.

The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) on Saturday, 19 of September was moving from Dhamase towards El-Adde town in Gedo, Southern Somalia.

Kenya Army (KDF) using their armed APC’s and support from the Air-Calvary battalion countered the ambush immediately after the gunmen struck.

2 Attack helicopters from the air cavarly provided both cover and attacked the terrorists while the ground forces conducted a counter-strike.

Machine-gun fire and rocket propelled grenades were fired. 13 militants were neutralized.

The battle damage assessment (BDA) shows the army may have been affected but negligibly.
