Somalia Imams and Scholars Council Denounce Newly Launched Islamist Group

Tuesday 11/4/2017, Somalia Imams and Scholars Council denounced the newly launched Islamist group Al Sadiun Bil Haq in Cairo, Egypt.

The head of Council Sheikh Ahmed Bashir denounced the group that has a Somalia Chapter saying that the Alsadiun Bil Haq has no difference in ideology with that of Al-Shabaab.

In a video release, widely shared in Social media Amir of Proclaimers of the Truth Sheikh Mustafa Kamel Mohamed warned that the group aims at embracing “the rule of Allah” in a Muslim world that was disintegrating with war and disasters courtesy of radical teachings.

In Somalia, the group has received cold reception with majority describing its members as extremists or having extremist ideology.

Former planning minister and presidential aspirant Abdishakur Abdirahman dismissed the group as “Takfirs” in a facebook post.

Members of the Proclaimers of Truth however say they want an Islamic government that offers an alternative to western democracy.

We are not terrorists and we don’t want to fight, the spokesman of the group was recently quoted by the media
