Somalia Al-Shabaab Militants Attempted Attack on Military Base outside Mogadishu, Repulsed

Latest military reports from Somalia indicate that Al-Shabaab attempted to breach into a Somali National Army base near the capital Mogadishu but were successfully repulsed.

Corresponding reports from locals and referenced by various open sources indicate that, intense firefighting ensued when the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab militants attempted to lay siege on Somali army camp located in the area of Hawo Abdi along the main road linking Mogadishu to Afgoye.

SNA troops immediately received reinforcements from Mogadishu and subsequently repulsing would be attack by the armed.

Reports of any casualties on the warring sides and the civilians as well not confirmed.
