Somali Police Nab 2 Al-Shabaab Operatives in Benadir Region

Latest military intelligence reports from Somalia indicate that Somali police and security forces on Tuesday 3rd January 2017, early morning nabbed two Al-Shabaab operatives linked with recent deaths of a government soldier at Sinay junction in Yakhshid district in Benadir.

According to Col. Bishar Abshir Gedi, Benadir Police Commissioner and referenced by Somali National News Agency (SONNA), the two were captured in security operation this morning.

“Our forces captured two Al-Shabaab operatives for the killing of municipality soldier after an operation in Yakhshid district, Investigation is under way now”, Mr. Bishar said.

The Somali Police and Security forces vows to intensify with security sweeps in pursuit of the criminals and to ensure there is security in the region characterized with Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab elements.
