SNA, AMISOM Repulse Al-Shabaab Attacks on their Bases near Jalalaqsi Town in Hiiraan Region

Latest military reports indicate that Somali National Army (SNA) and African Union Forces (AMISOM) successfully repulsed Al-Shabaab attacks targeting their bases near Jalalaqsi town in Hiiraan region.

Confirming on Al-Shabaab siege, Abukar Mohamed Ali (Gaab), the commissioner of Jalalaqsi said the attack began with mortar shelling, and followed by a direct gunfight between the two sides.

Ali stated that the allied forces managed to successfully repulse the attackers and remained in control of their bases.  He refuted claims by Al-Shabaab spokesman that the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab of killing and overrunning SNA and allied forces military based.
