SNA, AMISOM Conduct Joint Operation in Bay Region; Kill 8 Al-Shabaab Terrorists


Recent military reports published by Somali National News Agency (SONNA) indicate at least Al-Shabaab terrorists were killed after fighting erupted between the militant group and the Somali National Army troops (SNA) backed by African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

The joint forces conduct counter-terrorism operations targeting Al-Shabaab terrorists in Bay region of southwest Somalia.

Corresponding report by an a government official for Southwest State in Somalia, Hussein Hassan Mohamed confirm that at least 8 Al-Shabaab terrorists were killed among them a senior militant official identified as Hassan Ganey in an operation conducted in Qansax-dheere location south of Baidoa town.

No casualty was reported on SNA and allied forces side.

Security forces in Southwest State are carrying out operations to ensure the security of Baidoa town and surrounding. According to government official, Hussein Hassan Mohamed operations will continue until the region is completely pacified, off Al-Shabaab terrorists.
