Puntland Forces Intensify Security Operations against Al-Shabaab & ISIS

Puntland forces have intensified security operations against Al-Shabaab and ISIS operatives in Puntland region of Somalia.

According to Puntland Minister for Security Abdi Hirsi Ali aka Qarjab, more than a dozen linked with the extremist groups have been captured from a location which is 85km to Garowe town who are now under police interrogation.

At least 10 others have been nabbed using illegal transport routes than the normal public roads with the coordination of the Puntland government and the local people.

Qarjab cited the ongoing military operations in Galgala Mountains saying plans are in place to decimate armed Al-Shabaab and ISIS elements from the region.
