Over Dozen Al-Shabaab Suspects Arrested in Security Sweep in Garbaharey, Gedo Region

Over a dozen Al-Shabaab suspects were arrested in a security sweep conducted in outskirts of Garbaharey district, Gedo region of Somalia.

According to Col Farah Abdi, Somali soldiers carried out the operation in rural areas located on the outskirts of Garbaharey district.

The arrested Al-Shabaab suspects were planning to launch attacks on  SNA bases in the region, but acting on intelligence the militants were arrest before they could do anything.

Abdi reiterated about joint forces commitment in eliminating the enemy in their remaining pocket in the region saying more offensive will continue to root out Al-Shabaab from the entire region.
