A US airstrike conducted in coordination with SNA on Tuesday has killed over 100 al Shabaab militants. The airstrike was conducted 125 miles northwest of Mogadishu according to a statement released by the United States African Command.
The Trump administration has stepped up its campaigns started by his predecessor Barak Obama, to defeat the Shabab, the group responsible for the 2013 attack on the Westgate mall in Nairobi, Kenya.
The statement further said that the US would continue with the airstrike campaigns against the Al Qaeda affiliated group in the East African region to ensure it has been defeated. This includes partnering with AMISOM and Somali National Security Forces (SNSF); targeting terrorists, their training camps and safe havens throughout Somalia, the region and around the world.
