KDF Launches Tactical Attacks Against Al Shabaab Camps in Reinvigorated Operation Linda Boni

The Kenya Defense Forces in collaboration with other security agencies in the country have launched a massive onslaught against Al Shabaab militants in the infamous Boni Forest in Lamu Country. Operation Linda Boni has retaken full effect with explosions, and ground assault launched on the militants’ hide outs inside the forest. According to Linda Boni Operation director Joseph Kanyiri, it is has been invigorated by the recent increase of gruesome attacks against the residents of Lamu county from attack launched and masterminded within the thick forest.

Consequently, Mr. Kanyiri residents and primarily herders against going into the forest during these dangerous times as they could encounter aggrieved and wounded militants flushed out of the forest.

Boni has been home to one of Al-Shabaab’s elite groups, Jaysh Al-Ayman, who have been operating there since the deployment of Kenyan soldiers to Somalia. The overrun of the elite force within the forest is expected to cripple any and all operations overseen by the elite strategic team.

Operation Linda Boni has been one of the highlights of the military operation against the Al Shabaab as it has been able to showcase the military might and resilience of Kenya Defense Forces.

Moreover, the operation is expected to involve air strikes and tactical ground assault in the first 48 hours as the security officer interrogate several terror suspects arrested and believed to have critical information on the militant camps in the forest.
