Nigerian Air Force Bombard And Destroy Boko Haram Major Bomb Making Facility In Borno State

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has destroyed a major bomb-making facility belonging to the Boko Haram in a continued campaign against the militants dubbed Operation LAFIYA Dole. The Boko Haram facility is located in a place known as YIWE Forest, located 23km south of Konduga in Borno State. The operation involved one Mi-17 Helicopter, 2 x Alpha Jet and 2 x F-7Ni aircraft which used a combination of bombs, rockets and cannons to neutralize the target.

The Boko Haram facility is located in a place known as YIWE Forest, located 23km south of Konduga in Borno State. “Previous NAF Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions had revealed the location to be a Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) hideout, from where the Maiduguri suicide bombing of 18 November 2017 was reportedly planned”, the statement read.

The statement did not immediately confirm the number of militants killed but being a hideout for the terrorists the number is expected to be very high. The airstrikes will in turn cripple the attacks by Boko Haram using explosives and in turn, interfere with the violent agenda furthered by the militants.
