A statement from Nigerian Army confirms the killing of Boko Haram’s chief bomb makers by his fellow jihadists in one of their camps in Sambisa forest.
The militant’s bomb maker was reportedly shot while trying to flee their camp, Col. Sani Usman, the Army spokesperson said in a statement. He reportedly was killed by Shekau’s Bodyguard.
Col. Sani Usman said the slain terrorist was a high ranking officer in the command structure of Boko Haram terrorists group now affiliated to the Middle East-base Islamic State.
According to Usman, killing of the bomb maker is a major breakthrough in the clearance and rescue operation by the Nigerian military through the intensified military operation dubbed "Operation CRACKDOWN.”
Killing of their own is another confirmation that all is not well within the Boko Haram terrorists camp.
Apart from his high status in the command structure of the Boko Haram terrorists, the slain jihadist was one of their capable hands involved in making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) used in series of suicide attacks in troubled northern Nigeria, Col. Sani Usman added.
