Mortar Shelling Target Somalia’s Presidential Palace, Allied Forces Responds

Allied forces immediately responded to mortar shelling that targeted the Presidential Palace in the capital Mogadishu on Tuesday.

Several mortars landed near the Presidential palace amid expected meeting between Somali leaders.

According to military sources, at least 6 mortars landed in residential areas in Wardhigleey district close to the heavily fortified Presidential Palace and also near AMISOM base near Mogadishu Airport.

SNA along with AMISOM forces were immediately deployed in the areas and roads near the Presidential palace.

So far there is no clear information on the casualties of the attacks.
