Libyan Pro-government Forces Claim Advances against ISIS in Sirte

Libyan pro-government forces continue to make gains against the Islamist terrorist group ISIS in the coastal town of Sirte.

The forces led by brigades from the city of Misrata staged attacks by land, sea and air. Several militants reportedly have been killed and now ISIS militants are holed up in Sirte’s residential areas.

The forces were happy over their advances in the city which the stronghold for the militants.

According to military commander with the troops, their soldiers have gained ground in two districts and are enthusiastic to completely dislodge ISIS.

The battle has full of challenges with mines being the main hindrances for their advancement, but the engineering battalion is there to carryout de-mining operations, the commander added.
