Kurdish President Massoud Barzani has thanked the United States for its support in fighting ISIS from the Kurdistan Region in their war against terrorism and once again invited investors to the region.
President Massoud thanked President Obama in a speech at the US chamber of Commerce on Tuesday evening while addressing a high level delegation.
Speaking during the conference, Massoud added that with support from the United States, Kurdish forces have liberated most parts of the region from ISIS who had captured towns, oil refineries and part of the government institutions.
The country is now safer, says Massoud. The peace achieved has further provided home for more than one million refugees who had been displaced from the surrounding countries-Syria.
President Massoud also invited investors to shift interest towards the region, assuring them of their security since Kurdish forces have gained an upper hand in the region.
The war against ISIS in Iraq and Syria has been one of the major factors affecting economies in the region and causing instability among their people.
