Kenya Security Agencies Jointly Thwarts Terror Attack Planned by Al-Shabaab

Kenya security agencies jointly managed to thwart a terror attack planned by Somalis Al-Shabaab terrorist group.

In intelligence operation, police managed to capture six men who were at an advanced stage of conducting an attack on Kenyan soil.

According to Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, Police also seized among others readymade explosives, four suicide vests and highly explosive chemical power known TNT.

Recently Kenya lost some security officers through explosions caused by landmines planted by the Islamist militants in the vast arid NEP Kenya bordering Somalia.

These landmines are a new strategy Al-Shabaab has turned to targeting Kenyan security forces MSRs.

Intelligence Service had warned of a group of militants dispatched from Burhanche in Somalia by their commanders to launch attacks in Kenya.

In collaboration with their counterparts in Somalia, Kenyan security officers were able to foil the attack and apprehend the suspects.

The suspects are undergoing police interrogation to ascertain their extent of operations said the Police Chief.
