Kenya Defense Forces Closer to UAS Capability

Kenya is looking for unmanned aerial surveillance capability through Israeli experts, Strategic Intelligence confirmed.

Kenya has been discussing the acquiring of UAS capability with an Israeli company Israel Aerospace Industries that has been helping Angola achieve such capacity in 2011.

IAI, The Israeli company that developed the Heron drone has been in talks with Kenyan intelligence and military intelligence officers about UAS.

Kenya is eying the Heron 1 unmanned air systems which could boost its military capacity beside strengthen its intelligence and surveillance capabilities.

Israel Aerospace Industries conducted Heron 1 UAS tests in Kenya and Angola mid and late 2011 in an effort to market the product.
