Kenya Airstrike Kill 56 Militants in Somalia

An air strike conducted deep inside Somalia by Kenya air force has killed over 56 members of the militant group Al-Shabaab, our intelligence sources report.

The Tuesday F-5 Tiger fighter jet air strike struck a militant base where top leaders of the group were holding a meeting destroying the camp and killing militants.

The air strike targeted a militant camp at Faragurow, an area 3 kilometers outside Jliib in Lower Shabelle region of Somalia.

Propaganda websites reported civilians were hit by the airstrike to divert media attention on the losses incurred during the attack.

Foreign fighters and senior leaders of the Al-Qaeda linked militant group were meeting in the area for a strategy meeting amid reports of a surge in their operations.

Our intelligence sources confirm that the leaders of the militant group suffered injuries and some may have been killed.

Kenya had launched a similar attack north of Jiliib on Sunday killing dozens of militants.
