KDF Convoy Escapes Roadside Bomb near Kismayo Town, Minor Injuries Reported

Kenyan Defence Forces (KDF) supplies military convoy escaped roadside bomb that targeted its convoy just a few kilometers to the port town of Kismayo.

The roadside bomb that detonated barely a minute after the vehicles had passes however caused a few minor injuries to the soldiers.

According to the residents, the area between Abdalla-Biroole and Kismayo, is a dangerous stretch with cases of roadside mines targeting KDF and Jubbaland forces.

The militants allied to Al-Shabaab plant roadside IEDs, after the blast, they often attempt to lay an ambush targeting on the military supplies.

Al-Shabaab has not issued comment about the roadside attack that failed to hit target. AMISOM also yet to issue the official statement about the botched incident.

This roadside attack comes when Jubbaland state forces, along with the support of AMISOM and US military are preparing to launch anti-militants operations to drive out Al-Shabaab group from the entire region.
