A Makeshift Al-Shabaab Camp Destroyed by KDF Fighter Jets in Gedo Region, Somalia

Fighter jets believed to be from Kenyan troops on Tuesday night pounded Al-Shabaab bases near the militant-held town of Jilib in Middle Jubba, southern Somalia.

According to reports on Somalia open sources, the bombs fired from the fighter jets struck the Al-Shabaab fighter’s outpost with heavy militant casualties reported.

Corresponding reports by local residents confirmed of several blasts on the outskirts of Jilib town on Tuesday night but could not independently confirm the number of terrorists killed.

 Kenyan (KDF) jets as well as U.S. warplanes have severally conducted air sorties targeting on Al-Shabaab bases in Somalia.

KDF has been assisting Somali Government troops (SNA) battle Al-Shabaab in southern Somalia.

Kenya has 3,664 soldiers battling Al-Shabaab militants under the banner of AMISOM covering Lower and Middle Juba and Gedo regions.
