Facebook Reveals Stringent Measures And Protocols To Curb Terrorism On The Social Media Site

Facebook has declared that ‘Terrorism Has No Place’ on the site as company’s lead policy maker for counterterrorism, Brian Fishman at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism’s 17th annual conference. The conference brings together leaders and decision-makers from defense, intelligence, police as well as other stakeholders in-charge of the national and international security.

Facebook faces in quickly scanning and removing terror-related content from its site, and what the company is doing to improve this process. Facebook employs 150 people – including lawyers and policy experts – whose primary responsibility is to address and remove terror-related content on the site.

Social media has over the years become the avenue through which terrorists and radicalizers reach young people and other Tech savvy individuals and as such advancing their violent agenda. Major social media sites have however erected protocols that are geared at ensuring that people do not push hate and terror on social media as a collaborative measure with security agencies on the ground
