Dutch Police Nab a Suspected Member of Al-Shabaab Terrorist Group

Dutch prosecutors revealed that police nabbed a Dutchman with Somali background suspect to have links with Somali’s Al-Shabaab terrorist group.

According to the National Prosecution Office through a statement on Tuesday, the 22-year-old suspect was detained last week in the southern town of Sint-Oedenrode following on credible information from the Netherlands' General Intelligence and Security Service.

Prosecutors further say the assailant whose identity has not been released is suspected to have actively been involved in Al-Shabaab including financing terror activities in southern Somalia.

The lead prosecutor, Wim de Bruin confirmed that the suspect has a case to answer saying he will appear before an investigating judge Wednesday 3 in Rotterdam.

Prosecutors also want the Judge to extend the suspect's detention while probe into his activities continue.
