Car Bomb Explosion Targeting Police Station in Mogadishu Kills Three Civilians


At least three civilians have been killed in a car bomb explosion which was targeting a police station in Shangani district in Benadir region on Monday 9th May 2016, Somali National News Agec (SONNA) reports.

Corresponding reports from witnesses say after the car explosion, heavy exchange of gunfire followed; gunmen armed with AK 47 believed to be Al-Shabaab tried to stormed and breach inside the police station but were met with resistance from security officers.

Reports indicate two attackers were killed in the clash.

No group so far has claimed responsibility.
